Test #5 – Torso Rotation

Prerequisite information:

The torso rotation test should be performed in bare feet, in cloths that will not restrict movement.

Movement:

To perform the torso rotation test. You will need a basic flat chair, a golf club, and a doorway or post.

In order to perform the Torso rotation test bring your chair close enough to the doorway or post so that your knees can squeeze in and hold your hips in position, while sitting on the front egde of the chair, not back against the chair. Rest the club on the back of your shoulders holding it with both hands.

While staying as upright as possible rotate your torso in to the right as far as you can to try to touch the edge of the club to the doorway or post without allowing your body to shift in any direction, your legs to come away from the post or something.

Come back to neutral and repeat with the left side.

  • Note any differences between the two sides.
  • If the back of the chair restricts your motion, or if the club hits the back of the chair prior to the Post find a different chair or use a bench or stool with no back.

Passing:

  • Ability to rotate each Direction to where the club can touch the post in your body stays upright.

Needs improvement:
